Please join us for an Introduction to Safe, Kind & Caring Communities Branch County on Oct. 11 at 2:30 pm or 6:30 pm.

What does it mean to be a SAFE Community? Tibbits Opera House and the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (BCCADSV) are partnering for an Introduction to SAFE Communities Branch County on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Tibbits.

Two opportunities will be offered, at 2:30pm and again at 6:30pm, to learn and explore the possibilities for our community. Each session begins with discussion and visioning for a community where all can feel comfortable at work, at home, and throughout our county. Awareness of words and actions, is a first step into helping everyone feel welcome regardless of gender, culture, orientation, religion, social or political views.  Participants will leave with a new understanding of what SAFE can mean and resources to continue the conversation and share it with others.

According to BCCADSV Executive Director Kim Hemker, “Everyone is welcome. We especially hope service clubs, church groups and other organizations will attend. They are in a position to become catalysts for our community in making it more welcoming for all.”

Admission for the event is free but participants are asked to reserve a space at Tibbits.org or by calling Tibbits at 517.278.6029. Everyone who makes a reservation and attends will be entered into a drawing for Tibbits tickets. The service organization or group with the largest percentage in attendance will receive the use of Tibbits Art Gallery catered by Hope Café for a club function.

The event will be held at Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett Street, in Coldwater. Doors open 30 minutes before each session. For more information, call or visit Tibbits.org.
