South West Michigan
Take the RV out for a spin to Camp Turkeyville. Enjoy the start of summer with modern RV facilities, a pool, fishing pond, golf cart rental, and family activities. It’s located among the fields and woods of Marshall, so no highway noise. The campground is part of Cornwell’s Turkeyville, the restaurant that serves everything from traditional turkey dinners to turkey grilled cheese. And don’t forget the pie and ice cream. Their dinner theater will open for the summer season on May 13th.
The 2021 summer season of public on-water experiences with the Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven starts over Memorial Weekend! All boat rides include museum admission and the museum shops. Step aboard the Friends Good Will, a replica 1810 topsail sloop, Lindy Lou, an electric-powered replica river launch, US Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat 36460, a historic rescue boat built in 1941, or Merry Time, a 1929 Chris-Craft Cadet. Tickets available now.
Join the Michigan Maritime Museum for a celebration of the 2021 summer season on Friday, May 28th. Festivities begin with the annual Blessing of the Fleet where tall ship Friends Good Will, museum vessels, and other South Haven harbor boats are part of a ceremony for a safe and successful season. The Blessing is followed by the kick-off fish fry at the most picturesque location in the heart of South Haven’s Maritime District.
Both Allegan Event’s indoor adventure center and the outdoor riverfront zip line will be open Memorial Day weekend and on Memorial Day. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked on Allegan Event’s website.
Enjoy two parades Memorial Day in Saugatuck & Douglas! Parade steps off at 9:00 am in Saugatuck and 10:00 am in Douglas.
The Hastings’ American Legion Post #45 honors veterans who gave their lives in defense of their country with a parade on Monday, May 31st, starting at 9:30 and ending at Riverside Cemetery with a memorial service.
Central West Michigan
Sparta will host a Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 31st, 10:30 am at Lameroux Park.
Start the summer season off right with picnics, campfires, and s’mores in Pure Ludington! Visit a campground in Mason County, where you can take full advantage of the forests, dunes, and beaches along Lake Michigan over Memorial Day weekend.
North West Michigan
The North Mitten Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k, which take place on a combination of paved roads, dirt roads, and trails, will be held on May 30th at Crystal Mountain in Thompsonville. The North Mitten route consists of primarily flat, open trails on Crystal Mountain property. Races will start and finish at the white slopeside tent near the Crystal Clipper chairlift. This is a great race for beginners and experienced runners!

Local favorites include Wetmore Landing and Little Presque Isle Beach for a fun day on the shore.
An annual Memorial Day Weekend event, “Experience the Keweenaw” is all about having fun on and off the trails, by bike, foot, or paddle. On Sunday, May 30th, the riding action is all in Copper Harbor, including the opening weekend of Keweenaw Adventure Company! Join in on the action by registering in the Enduro race, jumping on the mountain bike shuttle service, joining a guided mountain bike tour, or taking a leisurely self-guided ride on a mountain bike rental.
