South West Michigan
Take the RV out for a spin to Camp Turkeyville. Enjoy the start of summer with modern RV facilities, a pool, fishing pond, golf cart rental, and family activities. It’s located among the fields and woods of Marshall, so no highway noise. Join the Michigan Maritime Museum for their annual Blessing of the Fleet & Summer Kick-Off on Friday, May 27th. This is a great way to begin your Memorial Day weekend! Festivities begin with the Blessing of the Fleet where the tall ship Friends Good Will, Museum vessels, and other South Haven harbor boats are part of a ceremony for a safe and successful season. The Blessing is followed by the summer kick-off celebration from the most picturesque location in the heart of South Haven’s Maritime District.
Head to Round Barn Brewery & Public House in Baroda for a Memorial Day Weekend Tiki Party on Friday, May 27th. Enjoy cool drinks, island jams, delicious Cajun food, and a place to unwind from 5 to 10 p.m.! Plus, Sunday, May 29th will be the Island Spirits Party at Round Barn Estate. Head to a Southwest Michigan vineyard paradise, where the Round Barn team will be serving up a variety of tasty tropical cocktails, shaken up with Round Barn craft spirits!
The Hastings American Legion Post #45 will honor veterans who gave their lives in defense of their country with a parade on Monday, May 30th, starting at 9:30 a.m. and ending at Riverside Cemetery with a memorial service.
Central West Michigan
Join the Holland community as they celebrate and remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and honor the many veterans who have courageously served our country. The annual Memorial Day Parade will take place on May 30th at 9 a.m. and conclude with a small ceremony.
Visit Muskegon on Monday, May 30th for the 2022 Greater Muskegon Memorial Day Parade and Music Ceremony. The parade begins at 9 a.m., concluding at historic Hackley Park. Immediately following the conclusion of the parade, a Musical Memorial Day Ceremony will be held in the beautiful Frauenthal Center, featuring the Mona Shores High School Marching Band. This event is free and open to the public.
Muskegon County is also hosting Fruitport Old Fashioned Days from May 25th-30th. This is a week-long family fun festival featuring a Midway Carnival, live music, Memorial Day Parade, fireworks, car show, and more!
Step aboard the SS Milwaukee Clipper in Muskegon on May 28th for an on-the-water open-house Memorial Day Party! Take this “Maritime Step Back in Time” and be awed by the history and beauty of this Historic National Landmark known as the “Queen of the Great Lakes” and the oldest passenger ship on the Great Lakes.
