Unleash Your Inner Performer at Tibbits Kids Theatre Workshop

Tibbits Opera House proudly announces the return of its highly anticipated Kids Theatre Workshop, taking place from July 7 to July 13. Designed for budding actors and theatre enthusiasts, this engaging workshop offers a unique opportunity for students to explore the world of theatre under the guidance of seasoned professionals.

Led by experienced theatre instructor Chad Tallon and supported by Tibbits Summer Theatre professional company members, the workshop promises an immersive and unforgettable experience for participants. Through a dynamic blend of acting exercises, improvisation games, and ensemble activities, students will develop essential performance skills and unleash their creative potential on stage.

The acting sessions are split in two: Morning sessions, running from 9AM to 12PM, are tailored for students in grades 7-12, while the afternoon ones, from 1 to 4 PM, are available to students grades 3-6. These will focus on the art of acting and character development, delving into the nuances of dramatic storytelling and bringing classic characters to life.

Additionally, the afternoon session, also running from 1 to 4PM and available for students in grades 7-12, will explore the exciting world of technical theatre and design, under the guidance of seasoned technicians and instructors. From designing sets and props to mastering lighting and sound effects, participants will gain hands-on experience in the behind-the-scenes magic of theatre production.

No prior experience is required to join the workshop, making it accessible to students of all skill levels and backgrounds. With a supportive and inclusive learning environment, participants will build confidence, teamwork skills, and lasting friendships as they collaborate on a final showcase performance on July 13.

Registration for the workshop is now open, with a fee of $150 for one session or $250 for both sessions. Tibbits members enjoy discounted rates, and scholarships are available for eligible students to ensure accessibility for all. Workshop participants will also receive a commemorative t-shirt and a ticket to attend A Morning with Master Puppeteer Kevin Kammeraad and Friends.

The Kids Theatre Workshop is generously sponsored by Frederick Family Dental, the Babcoke family, and Asama Coldwater Manufacturing, with scholarships thoughtfully funded by Bobilya Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Their support enables Tibbits Opera House to continue providing enriching arts education opportunities for the youth in the Branch County community.
