The Grand Rapids Downtown Market, West Michigan’s destination for world-class culinary experiences, award-winning event spaces, food entrepreneurship, and community focused public events, is preparing for the grand opening of a new Market Hall merchant, Her Daily Bread Cookie Shop & Studio, on October 1.
Founded by local entrepreneurs Meg and Sean Hamilton, Her Daily Bread Cookie Shop & Studio has built a reputation for its intricately hand-decorated sugar cookies and fun, interactive decorating experiences. The new storefront will feature freshly baked cookies available daily, custom cookie order options for every occasion, hands-on decorating classes, and a walk-in DIY cookie bar where guests can decorate their own cookies with guidance from staff.
What began as only a dream in the Market’s Incubator Kitchen has now grown into a full scale brick and mortar location in just under two years. “I have gained SO much respect for independent food entrepreneurs from this experience,” Co-owner Meg Hamilton said. “We are extremely fortunate and blessed to have so much help and support to be where we are now.”
Their storefront location plans to be a warm, inviting space where customers can express and explore their artistry and enjoy decorating cookies. The Hamilton’s hope that the community is inspired when they visit their shop, “We’re trying to be intentional about making it a place that fosters creativity, for both adults and children. We hope you enjoy the cute cookies that we make, of course, but we also provide all the tools for you to make them yourself at home! What we are doing, you can do it too,” they said.
As part of their transition into a permanent storefront, Her Daily Bread Cookie Shop & Studio has undergone a brand refresh to better reflect this next chapter in their journey. The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is proud to continue supporting the growth of local food entrepreneurs like Her Daily Bread Cookie Shop & Studio and many others.
Her Daily Bread Cookie Shop & Studio will officially open to the public on October 1, 2025. Opening day festivities include samples of various cookie flavors and gift bags for the first 25 customers.
