Visit Windmill Island Gardens this Monday, July 21 for the continuation of the Books and
Blooms series with the Holland Recreation team! Each Books and Blooms will begin with a Story Time
hosted by the Herrick District Library at 10:00 am, followed by a fun, educational, and hands-on activity at
10:30 am. During the Books and Blooms series, children can not only enjoy interactive stories, songs,
and activities, but also enjoy our children’s carousel, playground, and see our chickens all on Windmill
Island Gardens’ park grounds every Monday morning through August 18.
This Monday during Books and Blooms, the team from Holland Recreation will get kids moving! There will
be a variety of fun yard games fun for all ages to get active like corn hole, ladder ball, and more! Children
working on their green thumbs can also decorate their own planter to fill with soil and seeds to take home
and watch grow!
The Holland Parks and Recreation department commits to maintaining, renovating and building parks that
the community enjoys and helps with the “quality of life” of its residents. They aim to meet the growing
needs of their citizens for constructive, creative and meaningful free time activities. Due to their efforts the
Holland residents get to enjoy the beautiful parks and many services they provide.
