West Michigan Tourist Association Shares Opportunities for Mid-February Events- Fox 17-2/10/24

Cranhill Ranch Winterfest; February 18, 2:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Winter is truly something to celebrate in West Michigan and Cranhill Ranch goes all out with the fun and games for this year’s Winterfest on February 18.  From 2:30 – 5:30 you can get all fueled up with a free meal that will give you lots of energy to play away!  The Barn Store will have snacks and drinks if you’re still hungry later. Imagine a day where  you truly CAN DO IT ALL!  Ice Skating, Snowshoeing, Ice Climbing, and Tubing are all on the menu, along with visits to the petting zoo and pony rides  – every kid’s dream come true.  And once the kiddos are all tuckered out, or even if you’re trying to go from point A to point B,  mozy on over to the tractor-drawn wagon rides that will make exploring all the more fun. 

Frostbite Trail Winter Cask & Flask Lost Cellars, WaterFire Vineyards, Blu Dot, & Short’s Elk Rapids, February 10th, 12 to 6 p.m.

The Frostbite Trail Winter Cask & Flask is back again this year. A winter tasting and food experience that runs throughout Antrim and Charlevoix Counties. This trail runs once a month throughout the winter of 2024 from 12-6 PM. Lost Cellars, WaterFire Vineyards, Blu Dot Farm and Vineyard, Short’s Brewing Company in Elk Rapids & more have joined forces to create a uniquely themed small bite food tasting with a 2 oz wine pour, a tasting pour of cider/beer, or a sample cocktail. So come and enjoy a day full of great food, drinks and tons of fun when exploring these Northern Michigan wineries and breweries. 

Shiver 5k/10k Snowshoe Race Fundraiser Grass River Natural Area, February 10th

Put on your snowshoes and run or walk through the beautiful snow-covered Grass River Natural Area as a fundraiser for their programs! This snowshoe race in northern Michigan is only a short distance from Traverse City. The 10k participants will run two loops through the course and if running is not your thing don’t worry because walkers are welcome too. An official clock will start at 10am on Saturday morning for those that would like an official clocked time to run their race with other runners and walkers, but the course will be up for the weekend to those that need to start at a later time. A prize will be awarded to overall male and female 5K/10K winners.
