Gilmore Car Museum – Winter Motoring Meet; Saturday, January 27, 10:00 – 4:00 p.m.

It’s an outdoor day at the Gilmore Car Museum tomorrow where Winter meets some classic Motors! It doesn’t look like rain or snow, so we’d say it’s the perfect day to come on out and enjoy scenic rides around the 90-acre snow-covered campus. But not just any ol’ ride…. these are extra special and memorable rides in some of the museum’s classic cars and trucks that they bring out especially for this day.  Stay awhile, warm up by the roaring outdoor fire with a bowl of hot soup or velvety hot chocolate, frosty beer, a glass of wine or even your favorite cocktail. There is lots to see with a special exhibit of snowmobiles through the decades, ORVs and 4x4s, and fun games for all.  Come dressed in your vintage snowsuit if you like and bring those snowshoes or cross country skis too! 

Farmers Alley Theatre; Native Gardens; Thursday’s thru Sunday’s, now thru Feb 11; 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. depending on the day

It’s time to sharpen those garden shears! We can’t be in our personal garden quite yet, we can pretend we are at Farmers Alley Theatre in Kalamazoo.  Native Gardens is a brilliant new comedy where cultures and gardens clash, turning well-intentioned neighbors into feuding enemies. The clash for backyard superiority begins when the wild and slightly messy style of one person’s native garden doesn’t mesh with the meticulously maintained prize-winning English garden of the neighbor next door.  Laugh your way through expose’s of race and class, struggles over fences and borders and differing opinions on ‘my way is the right way!’ This hilarious encounter guarantees no one comes out smelling like a rose! 

Air Zoo- Ice Cream Challenge 2024– Saturday, January 27, 11:00 – 3:00 p.m.

Ready!  Set!  Scoop! Tomorrow the Air Zoo in Portage is getting ready to scoop up support for the very best ice cream, made with the power of liquid nitrogen. This is science at its finest and crazy fun that you can actually eat!  Teams from nine local organizations will battle for your vote as the 2024 victor. Come ready to taste all the flavors – like Cinnamon Blast Jet Fuel, Michigan Breakfast Crunch, Sprinkles of Kindness and Princess Peach, to name a few, and cast your vote for the most delicious treat. Guests will also meet Mootilda, and enjoy activities provided by Milk Means More.
