Oliver Art Center’s Fundraiser Goes Online and Aims to Reach New Heights!

Oliver Art Center is taking its annual fundraiser online and to new heights!

Due to state mandates, Oliver Art Center will not be holding its annual fundraising dinner and auction in person as it has for well over ten years. Instead, they are hosting the No GalaGala: a Drone Golf Ball Drop and Online Auction. Crystal Lake Golf Club has agreed to host the drone drop and people are being encouraged to purchase golf balls online or in person for $25 (or 5 for $100). These balls will be dropped from the drone hovering over the course and the three balls closest (and one farthest) to the hole will win prizes. Prizes include: $1,000, a new MacBook Air, iPad Pro, and Air Pods Pro! Oliver Art Center’s Art of Giving sponsors have agreed to match all contributions up to $18,000 – that is 720 golf balls! Golf balls went on sale last week and run through August 15. “We decided to host a non-event in light of the current situation and wanted to have some fun with it. We also want this to be a bit of a ‘friend-raiser’ to attract more people to the art center and its programming,” said Rick Rodes, No GalaGala Committee Chair.

Want to make a bigger impact and take away an unforgettable Up North experience? Oliver Art Center will also be holding an online auction. Packages include: round of golf for 3 at Crystal Downs with a night stay in a luxury suite at Harbor Lights; Annual Ski Pass to Crystal Mountain and a 24 hour mobile sauna rental from Sauna Dude; and hour of flight instruction in a seaplane with gift card to Red Ginger; A Day in Frankfort package that includes bike rental from Crystal Lake Adventure Sports, lunch from L’Chayim, and a night in a luxury suite at Hotel Frankfort; Private design consultation with Becky Thatcher and wine tasting and food paring from Bonobo Winery; a Toast to Frankfort package which features items and certificates contributed by businesses all over Frankfort; and so much more! Auction opens August 15 and runs until the 27th.

Then on Thursday, August 27 at 7pm log on to Oliver Art Center’s website (www.oliverart.org) to view the drone drop and learn the winners. “Oliver Art Center is a non-profit organization in Frankfort that serves Benzie County and the surrounding area. It strives to promote and develop the visual, performing, culinary, and literary art and maintain an educational program and facility for the advancement of the arts. As with everyone during this time, COVID-19 has affected OAC’s operations. This annual fundraiser will go a long way to lessening the burden that we have felt during these challenging times,” says Mercedes Michalowski, Executive Director.
