For a unique golf outing look no further than south-central Michigan’s Coldwater Country. Located halfway between Chicago and Detroit, the area is home to nearly two dozen golf courses. Hit the links at Bella Vista Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course meandering through 300+ acres of serine wilderness. For a challenging but fair course head to Iyopawa Island Golf Course. This well-maintained nine-hole course looks easy, but with the tree-lined fairways and smaller greens, it can be a challenge to control the ball. One of the most historic golf courses in Michigan, the Coldwater Golf Course is located on the shores of Morrison Lake. This traditional course offers an enjoyable and very playable challenge, winding through the tall trees, rolling hills, and the area’s chain of lakes. The LYNX Golf Course in Otsego is a daily-fee golf course, open to the public seven days a week. Both nines begin and end at the highest point on the course, about 120 feet above the Kalamazoo River. The front side sends you out and concludes with a short, uphill dogleg left par 4 measuring 353 yards. The backside features the course’s signature hole, No.10, a par 4 of 411 yards that boasts an 85 foot elevation drop from tee to fairway.

Welter’s Folly at Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks is a family–friendly, 30,000 square foot public putting green located behind the distillery. The 18-hole course is modeled after the Himalaya at St. Andrews in Scotland, and is one of the largest real grass putting greens. Their season begins in early April, when golfers 21 and up can enjoy a cocktail on the greens, and kids under 12 can putt for free! Visit the Journeyman website for more information.
