This winter, Grand Traverse Bike Tours is partnering with Farm Club and Shady Lane Cellars to offer an all inclusive tour: Sip & Ski. This is the essential winter wine country adventure!
“If you are looking for a winter adventure–this tour can’t be beat,” says Grand Traverse Bike Tours Owner Nick Wierzba. “Skiing from winery to winery in the serene countryside–there’s nothing like it in all of the US!”
The Sip & Ski Tour is scheduled for January 21 2024, February 4 2024, and February 25 2024, running from 12:30pm – 4pm. Tickets for this day-long guided tour are priced at $98 per person. The tour includes: professionally guided tour on private vineyards and the groomed Leelanau Trail, cross country ski, pole and boot rental, a wine tasting at Shady Lane Cellars, a midway snack and water break, a drink and warm lunch at Farm Club, along with wine purchase pick-up and shuttle service back to the start.
Guests will cross-country ski 5.1 miles on the groomed Leelanau Trail with a professional guide and enjoy food and drinks along the way. Begin with a complimentary tasting at Shady Lane Cellars, a boutique winery sitting on a picturesque and historic farm. Indulge in estate grown wines in their tasting room before embarking on the tour. Head briefly through Shady Lane’s rolling vineyards on skis to the groomed and flat Leelanau Trail.
Along the way, enjoy complimentary snacks and take in the scenic view of the Leelanau countryside. Pass by historic farms, sweeping vistas, and pristine countryside dusted with snow. The tour concludes at Farm Club, a restaurant, brewery, farm and marketplace in a modern, open air setting. Enjoy a locally grown supper, including a bowl of their fire-roasted stew, fresh bread, and a beverage. Afterwards, catch our shuttle to the start, or for the especially adventurous, ski back!

This event is for adults ages 21 and older and will require ID verification at each winery. Tour attendees should wear warm layers, warm socks, and gloves and expect to be outdoors in winter conditions for a combined total of 2-2.5 hours covering 5.1 miles on skis.
Grand Traverse Bike Tours is housed in the Suttons Bay Bike shop right off of M-22 in downtown Suttons Bay and is a year-round shop featuring a full line of retail and rental fat tire bikes, cross country skis and snowshoes as well as winter weather clothing and gear.
