FireRock Grille Beerfest. August 9, 5:00-10:00 p.m.

  • Gather your brew crew and head to FireRock Grille on Friday, August 9th from 5-10 p.m. for their annual BeerFest!  It’s a party-hearty time with over 12 local breweries, including Bell’s Brewery and Founders Brewing Co. The Charlie Horse Band will be performing live and an amazing taco buffet with all the trimmings, including brisket, pork carnitas, chili-lime mahi mahi, a salad bar, and crispy hot churros, a limited menu will also be available. The fee for adults is $ 25.00 and the beer sample tokens are $ 2.00 each, with some samples requiring more than one token. This is one event that beer aficionados won’t want to miss.

 

Boyne City Pirate Fest- August 8th-10th

  • Ahoy me Hearties!  The Boyne City Pirate Fest Is August 8th through 10th and it has gotta be the zaniest ‘shiver me timbers’ weekend ever. So get those baggy breeches, blousy poet blouses, and tricorn hats dusted off, and join the party for some truly blimey action! This festival is themed to the hilt with a pirate queen pageant, a pirate poker run, an opening pirate invasion flotilla, and colorful parade, and a costume contest, of course.  The spirited fun continues with Pirate River Adventures, Pirates Got Talent Show, mixed with loads of live music, Highlander Games, and a Kids Fair.  Be sure to brush up on your pirate - speak and you won’t want to miss the buskers and mermaids either!

 

Unity Christian Music Festival- August 7th - 10th; 5:00- 9:00 p.m. and FREE, the 8th through the 10th is from 2:00-  9:00 p.m. and requires a purchased pass.

  • The Unity Christian Music Festival is back with 20 different Christian bands from around the country performing August 7th through the 10th. There is an opportunity for prayer and each day kicks off with inspiration from the Unity Praise Choir. Billed as the family affordable event of the summer this Muskegon festival is perfect for the whole family and children under 5 are free. Great food vendors come from around the state and Meijer once again hosts their affordable food tent and Country Dairy is providing ice cream. More than wonderful music, the festival provides kids activities, a family fun zone, and a blood drive and CranHill Ranch hosts their Extreme Games for those seeking more adventure.
