This premier juried art show features exceptional handcrafted works by some of West Michigan's most talented artists and makers, showcasing creativity and outstanding craftsmanship around every corner. Best of all, this free community event offers something for everyone, with live music, inspiring artwork, and the opportunity to spend the day browsing Douglas' unique boutiques, art galleries, and locally owned restaurants. National Blueberry Festival, South Haven | August 7–9
Celebrate summer in South Haven, proudly known as the Blueberry Capital of the World, during the National Blueberry Festival, happening now through Sunday. As America's longest-running fruit festival, this beloved West Michigan tradition is packed with family-friendly fun. Browse the Blueberry Central Market at the Huron Street Pavilion, enjoy nightly entertainment on the Mainstage beginning at 8:00 p.m., and experience a full lineup of activities including a carnival, parade, car show, quilt show, pancake breakfast, sand sculpture contest, blueberry pie-eating contest, delicious food vendors, and a beer tent for adults.
For an authentic Southwest Michigan farm experience, make time to visit DeGrandchamp Farms, where blueberry season is in full swing. Pick your own fresh blueberries, sample homemade blueberry treats, and discover why South Haven is one of Michigan's favorite summer destinations.
Felt Estate Tours | Holland/Saugatuck Area | August 10–12
Step back in time with a visit to the historic Felt Mansion, beautifully nestled among the dunes between Holland and Saugatuck. This remarkable estate has lived many lives—from an elegant private residence to a Catholic seminary and even a state prison—before being lovingly restored into one of West Michigan's most fascinating historic attractions.
Self-guided tours are available August 10 through 12 and include a detailed tour booklet, while guided tours are offered on select Tuesdays beginning at 5:30 p.m. Private guided tours can also be arranged for groups of eight or more. After exploring the mansion's 25 beautifully restored rooms and spectacular ballroom, continue your adventure with a peaceful walk along the original Felt Estate trails, winding through more than 250,000 trees and connecting to both Saugatuck Dunes State Park and Shore Acres Township Park. Visitors are encouraged to check the online tour schedule before arriving.
Final Summer Street Performer Series | Holland | August 13 | 5:30–8:30 p.m.
Celebrate the final Street Performer Series of the summer in downtown Holland on Thursday, August 13. From 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., 8th Street transforms into an outdoor stage filled with live entertainment, talented musicians, singers, aerial acrobats, jugglers, caricature artists, balloon twisters, face painters, henna artists, break dancers, and plenty of surprises around every corner.
Bring the whole family, stroll through downtown Holland, and enjoy great shopping, dining, giveaways, and plenty of delicious food from local vendors and food trucks. It's the perfect way to wrap up a summer evening in one of West Michigan's favorite downtown destinations.
