During the Block Party from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm next Thursday, attendees can enjoy the famous Gentex prize wheel and Plinko games, a dunk tank, yard games, and lots of amazing giveaways and freebies all night long. The Block Party will also feature balloon animals provided by Steve’s Twisted Balloons and face painting by Shel Bell Sullivan. Free hamburgers, hot dogs and chips will be provided by the Holland Civic Center, while food trucks, Holy Smokers BBQ, Outlaw Roasted Corn, Tacon Madre, and Ollie’s Donuts will also be offering free food and sweet treats for attendees. Free ice cream will also be provided by the Holland Department of Public Safety’s Polar Patrol while supplies last

“Hosting the Block Party is a highlight each year because it allows us to provide a free, family-friendly experience that brings people together and celebrates the spirit of our community,” said Daniel Quintanilla, Gentex Director of Talent Programs.

This year, LAUP will also be joining the fun at the Block Party, providing family-friendly entertainment with music by DJ Alpha, a cultural dance performance by ballet folklorico troupe Monarcas, and a breakdancing set by local favorites Flow Like Water. Be sure to visit the LAUP information table as well to learn about the many community services offered by the organization, including language assistance, job training, a business incubator, youth programs, and more. This community wide cultural celebration is not to be missed!

“We are excited to join the Gentex Block Party and bring our community together through music, culture, and celebration,” said Alejandra Guillén, Executive Director of LAUP. “We are grateful for this opportunity to continue sharing these performances and create a space where families can connect, celebrate, and experience the richness of our diverse community.”
