The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is hosting an art exhibit and reception to highlight the work of last year’s KBS Long-Term Ecological Research program artist-in-residence.

Erica Bradshaw, a Kalamazoo-area author, illustrator, and muralist, was the KBS LTER 2024 Artist-in-Residence. The exhibit of the work from her residence is titled “Now and Then: An Artist’s Reflection on a Century of Research.” The opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 18, in the Overlook Building, located along the Bird Sanctuary’s accessible Paved Path.

The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is located at 12685 East C Ave., one mile north of M-89 and just west of 40th Street.

Through the exhibit, Bradshaw shares pieces inspired by her time spent interacting with the people and habitats at Kellogg Biological Station. This is an open house style event, and light refreshments will be served. Arrive anytime during the reception to enjoy the art exhibit and the beautiful grounds of the Bird Sanctuary.

Register by July 16 at bit.ly/kbs-art-exhibit-2025. The event is free to attend.
