Tibbits invites the community to experience a film that shows you can never quite tell when and where you will meet the spirit of Christmas, as they host a screening of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever on Saturday, December 20, at 2:00 p.m.
When six misbehaving young children, Ralph, Imogene, Leroy, Claude, Ollie and Gladys Herdman bully their way into their town’s Christmas play, everyone assumes disaster is not far behind. The kids have a reputation around town as brutish bullies that generally make everyone around them miserable. But as the rehearsals unfold, and the kids learn more about the Nativity story, could this actually wind up being The Best Christmas Pageant Ever?
This 2024 family comedy stars Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Molly Belle Wright and Lauren Graham, and is an updated version of the 1972 novel of the same name by Barbara Robinson, which was also adapted into a TV movie on ABC in 1983, starring Loretta Swit and Fairuza Balk.
More than just a movie, Tibbits also welcomes moviegoers to be there early for a special pizza party, featuring Christmas treats, starting at 1:00 p.m. Cost for the pizza party is $5 at the door, and tickets for the film are by donation.
The Best Christmas Pageant Ever is rated PG for thematic material and brief underage smoking.
Tickets for the film are by donation, and can be reserved at Tibbits.org, by calling 517-278-6029, or by visiting the Tibbits administration office at 93 West Chicago St., Coldwater.
