Tibbits Opera House will host a puppet workshop with Felt Bros. Industries on July 24 and 25 at 1pm. Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of puppeteering from a professional and create their own puppet character to take home.
In both sessions, students will learn the basics of puppeteering, like mouth movement and synchronization, and create their own puppet character. Customize your character with eyes, hair and a necklace and learn how to bring its personality to life. Students will also get to learn how to properly use a puppet on a set.
The July 24 workshop at session is for students aged 7-13 and parent/guardian supervision is required. This session is $25 including all fees. The July 25 workshop session is for students aged 14-17. Parent/guardian supervision is not required for this session, but permitted. This session is $45 including all fees. These workshops have limited capacity.
Both workshops will begin at 1pm after the 10am “Balloonacy” performances on July 24 and 25. After the performance, the theatre will close from 12pm to 1pm and students may return at 1pm for the workshop.
Felt Bros. Industries is a Coldwater-based puppeteering production company led by Clovis Bourdeaux, a 2024 NATAS Emmy-Nominated puppeteer and producer. All materials for this workshop are provided by Felt Bros. Industries.
