Acoustic singer-songwriter Jordan Crum will perform at the Gentex Street Performer Series this Thursday, July 23 from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm, along with a line-up of 25 different performing artists and groups from every background. Throughout the summer, the Gentex Street Performer Series features an exciting line-up of over 75 rotating performers all along 8th Street every Thursday evening, including musicians, jugglers, balloon twisters, caricature artists, break dancers, henna tattoo artists, and more. The 2026 Street Performer Series is proudly sponsored by Gentex Corporation with additional support provided by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council.
Jordan Crum is an acoustic singer-songwriter originally from Marion, Ohio who has called Michigan home since 2018. Crum started his musical journey when he got his first guitar in high school and his passion for music has grown every year since. Crum majored in music at Trevecca Nazarene University and now spends his time as a worship leader, leading worship with his local church band.
Jordan’s inspiration comes from listening and experiencing music and discovering new artists. His life experiences have also inspired him to write his own music. This is his second year participating in the Series, where he performs both covers on acoustic guitar, along with some of his original music! You can see Crum perform this Thursday, July 23 in front of Cotton Bay Boutique.
Street Performer Series attendees should note that 8th Street will be closed to thru traffic and parking from Columbia Avenue to River Avenue from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm on Thursday nights to accommodate the crowd. Free public parking for the event is available in the surface lots on 7th and 9th Streets, in the 7th and 9th Street Parking Decks, and at the Holland Civic Center Place. And don’t forget that while the Series is free to attend, tipping the performers is customary, as the Series is a traditional busking event.
The Downtown Holland Social District is also open during the Street Performer Series, meaning that patrons ages 21+ can purchase alcoholic beverages at one of nearly 20 different participating establishments to enjoy while strolling throughout Downtown Holland during the event. Balloon Twisters
Sadie’s Balloons
Sadie Laarman is a Zeeland East High School student who discovered her love for balloon twisting in 6th grade and has been creating colorful balloon animals ever since! Sadie is passionate about the arts and is actively involved in various art programs at school. She’s thrilled to be returning to the Gentex Street Performer Series for her third summer!
Steve’s Twisted Balloons
Steve is a dad to two beautiful daughters and the owner of “Steve’s Twisted Balloons.” He started twisting balloons for family and friends at birthday parties just four years ago. Aft4er launching his public balloon twisting career at the Street Performer Series, he has quickly become one of the area’s most sought-after balloon artists for special events, birthday party appearances, and more. He is excited to make his return to the Street Performer Series this year!

Flow Like Water
Flow Like Water is a break-dancing crew that performs regularly at festivals and events throughout West Michigan, bringing the crowd to their feet wherever they go. Their high energy and hip-hop beats are only matched by their amazing dance skills. This highly captivating performance crew seeks to connect within the community through the world of dance and entertainment.
Lisa Bullis-Dennen
Lisa has been a student and performer of Arab dance for over 20 years. She now focuses solely on Egyptian dance styles, continuing to learn from the teachers that first taught her the art. Her goal is to present an authentic and emotionally rich experience. Lisa lives part-time in Egypt, immersed in the rich history and culture. During her street performances you can also join in on some of her mini-lessons and wear one of the hip scarves she brings along!

Be Airbrushing
Libby Geurink is a high school teacher by day, who started an airbrush tattoo business to combine her love for being creative with her love of interacting with people! Libby has been a street performer on her own for several years and is excited to be teaming up with her 14-year-old daughter, Brea, for the first time this summer! Together, they can airbrush a wide variety of colorful designs on the skin, which are always popular with kids at festivals and events!
Doodle Face
Brooke Wolf has talents in all creative outlets, but for the Street Performer Series she brings a unique style of art in the form of glitter tattoos! She uses safe and kid-friendly paints to make designs that are popular among all ages. When she’s not painting faces, you can also find Brooke assisting Steve’s Twisted Ballons!
Henna by Anna
Anna Hoskins is a full-time artist who holds both a BFA and MFA in drawing from Kendall College of Art and Design. While she enjoys working in her studio, she loves to combine her passion for art and meeting people by drawing henna tattoos at reunions, birthday parties, weddings and more! Anna has been a Street Performer Series regular for over 15 years
Henna by Jahara
Jahanara Begum has been a Street Performer in Downtown Holland since the beginning of the Street Performer Series. She is a highly skilled and experienced henna artist who uses all natural ingredients that are safe for the skin. Her designs never fail to impress her fans of all ages!
Musicians
Acoustic Shenanigans
Acoustic Shenanigans is a spin-off off the local cover band SilentBark. Formed when a venue was in desperate need of an acoustic duo after a cancelation, lead vocalist Leah and guitarist Steve offered to throw a show together using just vocals and guitar. The duo proved to be very popular and really took off with the desire for live music in the newly created social districts in many downtown areas.
Aliyah Visser
Aliyah Visser is a 20-year-old vocalist and multi-instrumentalist born and raised in Zeeland. She currently attends the University of Kansas where she is studying Music Therapy. In her free time, she plays on the worship team at her local church. She also loves to spend time with her cats, as well as friends and family, when she’s home for the summer. This will be her second summer performing on the piano at the Street Performer Series.
Buck Creek Brass
Buck Creek Brass is a brass quintet who perform a wide range of styles of music from classical to pop/rock, traditional hymns, polkas, and even film scores. The group shares their talents with the community live music performances at venues like assisted living facilities, churches, community events, and the Street Performers Series. Join in the fun by getting silly with the chicken dance or elegantly waltzing to Edelweiss. They've got something for everyone!
Douglas Marlink
Douglas Marlink first began playing banjo in the mid-1970’s. He performs mostly bluegrass and some jazz music on the banjo. He is a street performer regular who can often be found performing showcasing his banjo talents both in Downtown Holland and at the Holland Farmers Market.
Gooder’n Grits
Gooder’n Grits is a local West Michigan old-time string band that is inspired by the centuries old fiddle tunes of the upper south. The band is made up of two banjo players who clog and flatfoot, a fiddler and a guitar player, and two married couples whose lives have overlapped in many ways. This timeless music still resonates in their collective memories, rich and sweet and lovely.
Isabel Noguera
Isabel Noguera doesn’t just write songs—she builds emotional landscapes out of melody and unflinching honesty. Her sound is raw but intentional and her music is a collision of Indie Rock with a soulful acoustic sound. Imagine Chappel Roan meets Mitski. Armed with a guitar, she transforms each song into a sonic journey that lingers long after the last note.
JLo the Artist
Local musician Jeanette Locher plays the native flute and enjoys making music from the heart. Jeanette performs regularly at the Holland Farmers Market and is excited to perform for the Gentex Street Performer Series for the third summer in a row! She is also an artist and crafter in her spare time.
Jordan Crum
Jordan is a solo singer/songwriter who lives in Holland. Music has always been a meaningful way for him to connect with people, and he loves creating moments that will create nostalgia and joy for others through his music. He has been performing for over 10 years and is very excited to be a part of the Street Performer Series this summer!
Maddy Grace
Maddy Kok is a 22-year-old with a huge passion for music, who works as a registered nurse. Maddy started singing when she was little, taught herself guitar at 11, and has been performing publicly since middle school. She loves sharing her music to create a fun, family-friendly atmosphere and bring joy to others at her performances!
Noah and Evan Band
Noah Brandsen and Evan VandenBerg are a dynamic 15-year-old duo bringing high energy and passion to every performance. Evan has spent years mastering the electric guitar, while Noah has been behind the drums since the age of 3. Both have played in church bands and performed in front of large crowds, building strong stage presence and musical chemistry. They’re excited to perform downtown this summer, have fun, and share their love of music.
Steph Gillett
Steph Gillett is an experienced singer and performer who began singing at her church and soon expanded to events like fundraisers, weddings, and other local venues. While she studied voice for many years, she taught herself guitar too. This summer marks her 11th year as a street performer, a tradition that began in high school and remains her favorite place to perform!
Still Broke
Still Broke is a band made-up of college students Caleb Montgomery, Danielle Lebster, and Kyler Young, on guitar, box drum and vocals, who love music and spending time in Downtown Holland. Having all grown up in Holland, they’ve always enjoyed watching the Street Performer Series and are excited to now be the ones performing
Tarnished Brass
Tarnished Brass is a small group of brass band nerds West Michigan who enjoy playing popular and sacred music together at church events and music festivals. For over 20 years they’ve met every week for practice and fellowship. Over the course of the last 10 years, they’ve brought brass band music to the streets of Downtown Holland, Zeeland and Muskegon.
The Trill Seekers-Melodic Flutes
Flautists Colleen Wedekind and Allie Haltenhoff both share a deep love of music. Colleen started on the flute at the age of ten and has been playing for over 60 years. Allie, who also began learning the flute when she was ten, is currently studying flute performance at Hope College. Together, they share a love for the freedom of thought and expression the flute brings. They hope people will be moved by their compositions they choose

Mike and Becky Villar are an acoustic husband and wife duo, featuring sweet harmonies and an eclectic array of songs from the 60’s through today. Their song selection is appreciated and loved by all ages. If you’re looking for easy listening rock, folk, and a touch of country, Whiskey & Wine is the perfect listening experience for you.

Celtic Kilroy Live Statue
Matt “Celtic” Kilroy, is a human statue and talented musician who specializes in Irish music. He has 40 years of experience playing eight different instruments, both as a soloist and with a Celtic band. Nine years ago, he added his human statue act to his repertoire, much to the delight of the crowds.
Connor Scholten
Connor Scholten first began yo-yoing as a young child in 1997, and he first performed for the public as part of the first ever Street Performer series in 2005. He has since worked full time as a yo-yo designer, coached the top players in the world, and taught yo-yo to thousands of people online. He is also the 2017 and 2018 National Yo-Yo Contest winner.
Mat Emerick
Mat Emerick delights audiences of all ages with his whimsical and zany mime, clown and juggler act. He loves to involve the audience in his routine, and this interactive experience is what makes the show so fun. No one knows exactly what’s going to happen next… including him!
