Public Sailing Adventures Now Available, August 7 – 10, 2025

Two legendary tall ships are setting sail for Grand Haven’s historic waterfront, offering the public a rare opportunity to experience maritime history firsthand. The 80-foot Schooner When And If—originally built in 1939 for General George S. Patton—and the 115-foot Schooner Liberty Clipper, widely known as Boston’s Tall Ship, will be docked at 1 N Harbor Dr, Grand Haven, MI 49417, and offering a series of ticketed sailing excursions.

Visitors can climb aboard for Day Sails starting at $75 per person, or choose from stunning Sunset and Twilight Sails beginning at $95 per person. Each excursion offers a hands-on experience where guests can help hoist the sails, explore the decks, and take in sweeping views of the Grand Haven lakefront from the water.

These historic ships are not only beautiful examples of classic American shipbuilding, but also serve as living museums, providing passengers with a unique glimpse into the art of traditional sailing. With limited availability, these sail-away adventures are expected to sell out quickly.
