The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is inviting the community to celebrate the official start of summer at the Summer Solstice Market on Sunday, June 21 from 10am to 6pm.
Taking place under the outdoor Market Shed, the one-day event will feature more than 35 local makers and artisans, live music, wellness experiences, and family-friendly activities designed to celebrate the longest day of the year.
Guests can shop a variety of handcrafted goods, artwork, jewelry, candles, home décor, self-care products, and specialty foods from local vendors while celebrating the arrival of summer in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids.
The event will also feature a free Sound Journey and Gong Wash in the Greenhouse hosted by The Sound Medicine Collective. This immersive experience offers guests an opportunity to relax, reflect, and welcome the new season through guided sound healing. Registration is required for this free activity because space is limited.
Live music from local artist Mar in Color will take place throughout the afternoon, creating a vibrant atmosphere for shoppers and visitors. The celebration will conclude with a community drum circle led by the Grand Rapids Drum Circle.
In addition to the special programming, visitors can enjoy food, drinks, and treats from the Downtown Market's 21 artisan food merchants and restaurants throughout the day.
The Grand Rapids Downtown Market is located at 435 Ionia Ave SW and is open seven days a week.
