Saugatuck
- This coming Saturday, the 12th, they’ll be having their “Erin-Go-Bark” St. Patrick's Day People + Pets Parade in downtown Saugatuck! Everyone’s invited to dress up and be part of the fun, with the parade line up at 12:30, and the parade starting at 1pm.
- You can stop by Saugatuck Brewing Company before the parade for their Irish Breakfast Buffet with green beer and live music.
- And on St. Patrick’s day itself, the 17th, you can stop by the Saugatuck Antique Pavilion for their 20% off sale, which is such a fun place to go explore.
Grand Rapids Area
- Head to Herman’s Boy in Rockford, where they’ll be making plenty of festive Irish treats. Grab one of their Irish Stout cupcakes, made with local beer, or for a savory option, try their reuben sandwich, smoked sauerkraut, and corned beef.
- Blandford Nature Center’s is getting into the holiday with their “St. Patrick’s Pals” program on the 17th. Legend says St. Patrick scared away all of the snakes in Ireland, so Blandford’s wildlife ambassadors are hosting a special “snakes” program, where you’ll learn all about snakes, plus get to make a fun green craft to take home.
Gaylord
- Even though it feels like Spring this weekend, you’ll still find snow Up North, and Treetops Resort in Gaylord is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with their “ShamROCK the Slopes” event on March 12th. It’s a fun way to celebrate the transition from winter to spring with events like their snow volleyball torment, and the annual Slush Cup that challenges riders to ski or snowboard across a pool of icy water. You can plan a trip up north to participate in the fun, or just enjoy the live music and hit the slopes one more time this season.
