South Haven is ready to celebrate one of Michigan's sweetest summer traditions as the National Blueberry Festival returns this week, bringing together the community for four days of family fun, entertainment, and hometown pride.
Since 1963, the National Blueberry Festival has celebrated the rich agricultural heritage that made South Haven known as the Blueberry Capital of the World. Today, the festival continues to honor the growers, volunteers, businesses, and community members who make this beloved tradition possible.
Festival highlights include the Blueberry Festival Parade, live entertainment, carnival rides, a beverage garden, craft fair, blueberry market, blueberry pie eating contest, blueberry pancake breakfasts, the popular Quilt Show, family activities, and much more. This year's festival also celebrates the 50th Annual Bobby Walker Basketball Tournament, highlighted by the dedication of the Bobby Walker Basketball Courts in honor of the longtime community leader whose legacy has inspired generations of athletes and families. Free shuttle service will be available throughout the festival, making it easy to enjoy the festivities without worrying about parking.
