Greenleaf Hospitality Group invites the community to enjoy drinks and live music before joining a New Orleans-style parade through downtown Kalamazoo on September 25.
Greenleaf Hospitality Group invites the community to kick off the Sounds of the Zoo Second Line Parade with a special happy hour at Lobby Bar, located inside the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites Kalamazoo, on Friday, September 25.
Beginning at 3 p.m., guests can enjoy specialty drinks, light bites and a festive atmosphere before Great Lakes Brass takes the stage at Lobby Bar for a live performance at 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to grab a Social District beverage from Lobby Bar to enjoy along the parade route within the designated Social District boundaries.
At 4:30 p.m., Great Lakes Brass will lead the New Orleans-style second line parade from the Radisson Plaza Hotel & Suites through downtown Kalamazoo to Bronson Park, accompanied by honorary Grand Marshal, City Commissioner Jeanne Hess. The community is invited to join the procession, with parasols, beads and handkerchiefs available for purchase from Great Lakes Brass before the parade begins.

"It's a great opportunity to enjoy a drink, experience live music and come together before taking the celebration into the streets of downtown Kalamazoo."
The free, all-ages parade will arrive at Bronson Park at approximately 5 p.m., where the celebration continues with live performances featuring Great Lakes Brass, Chris Canas, Yellowhouse and Desmond Jones.
