RedWater is strengthening its presence in Michigan’s golf industry with the acquisition of Tullymore Golf Resort and its two award-winning courses, Tullymore Golf Club and St. Ives Golf Club. The move expands RedWater’s collection of golf properties while complementing its existing restaurants and event venues across West Michigan.
Located in Stanwood, Michigan, near Canadian Lakes, Tullymore Golf Resort spans 800 acres of woodlands and wetlands shaped by ancient glaciers and offers a full-service golf and hospitality experience. The resort features two championship courses: Tullymore Golf Club, designed by Jim Engh, and St. Ives Golf Club, designed by Jerry Matthews. Tullymore is ranked No. 70 on Golf Digest’s 2025–26 list of America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses and has previously reached as high as No. 14. Both courses are consistently recognized among the top public courses in Michigan, while St. Ives has also earned a five-star rating from Golf Digest and recognition from Golf Magazine and Golf World as one of the nation’s top golf destinations.
The resort includes on-site lodging with two hotels, cottages and a lodge, along with clubhouses and event spaces for weddings, corporate outings and group celebrations. On-site dining further enhances the experience, positioning Tullymore as a complete getaway in central Michigan for golf, leisure and events.
“This acquisition reflects our commitment to investing in golf and hospitality throughout Michigan,” said Jeff Carlson, chief operating officer of RedWater. “Tullymore and St. Ives are exceptional courses with strong reputations, supported by a talented leadership team and dedicated staff. We’re excited to support that team, strengthen operations and ensure these properties remain among the region’s premier golf destinations.”
Investment in Michigan Golf and Development
RedWater is a recognized leader in the West Michigan golf industry, with a portfolio of public and private courses built around quality, accessibility and hospitality. The addition of Tullymore and St. Ives strengthens that presence and reflects a long-term focus on growing the game while expanding into resort-style properties.
RedWater plans to invest capital into the properties, with a focus on:
-
Enhancing lodging and accommodations
-
Updating and expanding resort amenities
-
Elevating the overall guest experience
-
Overseeing future residential development, including condominiums and custom-built single-family homes
-
Maintaining top-tier course conditions and playability
“The RedWater team shares our vision for Tullymore and St. Ives, and we’re confident they will continue to provide exceptional care for the resort, its courses and the members and guests who value these facilities,” said Joann Ministrelli, former owner of Tullymore Golf Resort. “We are proud to entrust these prestigious clubs to RedWater and are excited for our Tullymore staff to grow and succeed under their leadership.”
Expanding Hospitality and Event Experiences
With the addition of Tullymore Golf Resort, RedWater is expanding its offerings to provide full destination getaways, from overnight golf trips to weddings, corporate events and group gatherings. This addition complements RedWater’s existing portfolio, which includes nine event venues, nine restaurants, several golf simulator facilities and a cigar lounge.
“Offering golf alongside overnight stays allows us to create a more complete leisure experience,” said Leanne Stoll, marketing and communications director at RedWater. “Adding lodging is a natural step for us and gives us the ability to grow thoughtfully, refine amenities and continue creating memorable moments for our guests.”
“We’re excited about what this means for the future of Tullymore,” said Matt Golden, general manager of Tullymore Golf Resort. “This is a special property with a strong identity and loyal following. Our focus remains on building on that foundation, continuing to deliver the quality and service our guests expect while thoughtfully growing what makes Tullymore unique.”
