The Radisson Plaza Hotel in downtown Kalamazoo is thrilled to announce the grand opening date of its brand-new Lobby Bar, a stylish yet welcoming gathering place for hotel guests and the Kalamazoo community alike.
The space officially opens Tuesday, July 15 and is designed to blend sophistication with a welcoming ambiance.
Conveniently located on the main level of the Radisson in the space formerly occupied by the RIO Gift Shop, the Lobby Bar is envisioned to become a central hub for guests awaiting check-in, heading to dinner, or preparing for a downtown event. The RIO Gift Shop will be relocated within the lobby to enhance the shopping experience and will transform into an autonomous Amazon shopping hub later this summer.

“The Lobby Bar brings a new sense of energy and hospitality to our main level,” said Craig Davies, General Manager at the Radisson. “It’s designed to enhance the guest experience from the moment they arrive - whether they’re here for business, celebration, or anything in between - and reflects our commitment to being the host of Kalamazoo.”
Guests can expect a curated beverage menu featuring classic cocktails like the Cosmopolitan and Manhattan, each incorporating ingredients from Michigan-based distilleries. It's a celebration of the state’s vibrant craft spirit industry, right in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo. Beyond distillery highlights, guests can also enjoy local favorite - Factory Coffee - featured in the Espresso Martini, the perfect pick-me-up after a long travel day. On the Small Bites menu, guests can enjoy dishes like Pork Belly Bites, a Dip Trio, and fresh Burrata, each crafted to complement the beverage offerings.
“We’re excited to introduce a new space where guests can enjoy delicious beverages and small plates in a refined, inviting setting,” said Ryan Cunningham, Greenleaf Hospitality Group’s Executive Director of Food and Beverage. “It’s an ideal stop before dinner at Brick + Brine or one of the many great dining options downtown.”
The Lobby Bar will also take part in Downtown Kalamazoo Restaurant Week from July 17 to 26, and the community is encouraged to stop by before or after a great meal at Brick + Brine or another participating restaurant.
This new addition is the latest in a series of exciting enhancements at the Radisson in recent years - including fully renovated guest rooms and refreshed meeting and event spaces. And there’s more to come. The opening marks the beginning of even bigger transformations, including a complete renovation and brand refresh of Burdick’s, the well-known sports bar, and the conversion of the RIO Gift Shop into a fully autonomous Amazon shopping experience.
