Step back in time and explore life after hours in the historic homes of Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume in the After Dark Tours at the Hackley and Hume Historic Site.
This special evening tour invites guests to experience the beautifully preserved Victorian-era homes of Muskegon’s lumber barons from 9-10 PM on one Friday evening of each month from May through October 2026.
Bring your loved ones and delve into the captivating history of the booming lumber industry, the lives of Charles Hackley and Thomas Hume, and everyday life in Muskegon during the late 19th century.
"The after-hours setting allows guests to connect more deeply with the stories of Charles Hackley, Thomas Hume, and the community they helped shape,” says Hackley and Hume Historic Site Director Erin Schmitz. “That atmosphere makes these tours one of the most unique ways to engage with two of Michigan's finest examples of Victorian architecture."
