The 56th Annual Fallasburg Arts Festival is presented by Lowell Arts and will be held on September 14 and 15. The 2-day, outdoor festival includes 100 fine art and fine crafts booths, live music on a central stage, food booths, a children's craft area, craft demonstrations, and an annual raffle. Talented artists from around the state and the country apply every year to be part of this well-respected event. Artist booths are juried and a broad range of different mediums are represented including jewelry, sculpture, ceramics, glass, fiber, mixed media, wood, painting, drawing, photography, floral, basketry, and more. Annual attendance estimates are 25,000. Event sponsors include Fifth Third Bank, Meijer, Herbrucks Poultry Ranch, and Litehouse Inc.
Musical entertainment is held on an outdoor stage on both days of the event, featuring a variety of music styles. Musical acts include Fusion Rock Orchestra, Hawks & Owls, Bruce Matthews, Cold Leather Seats, The Wild Honey Collective, Whorled, Blue Water Ramblers, Austin Benzing, and Red Thyme. A Children's Area provides children the opportunity to decorate and take home a pumpkin. On Saturday in the Children's Area, guests of all ages and abilities are invited to participate in Drums for All with Josh Dunigan. Josh will share his love for world music and percussion through an interactive drumming and rhythm experience.
Demonstrators of traditional crafts are located in the pavilion. Visitors of all ages are invited to watch the artisans at work. Demonstrations include: mosaics, fly tying, quilting, weaving, needle felting, wood turning, and more. A variety of Food Booths are available, offering an array of fall-inspired and festival foods. Event guests are invited to purchase tickets for the annual raffle supporting LowellArts. Participants in the raffle will be entered to win the beautiful queen-size quilt created by Sue Clements, or one of over 75 other artist-made items donated by festival artists. Items will be on display at the event, and winners will be drawn at the festival. You do not have to be present to win. Raffle tickets are $2 each, 4 for $5, and 10 for $10.
