Zoo Goes Boo; Rock, Roar & Pour events transform Zoo for spooky season

There's something for everyone during spooky season at John Ball Zoo, with events geared toward children, families and adults.

John Ball Zoo’s Halloween events are filled with festive fun, creative costumes and unforgettable memories. They start with Zoo Goes Boo, a favorite annual event, which takes place during weekends in October, including Oct. 11-13, Oct. 18-20 and Oct. 25-27. The Zoo is also offering a Halloween-themed Rock, Roar & Pour event for adults on Oct. 24.

“We are excited to welcome guests of all ages for Halloween events this year and celebrate spooky season while contributing to the conservation of wildlife,” said Darci Mitchell, promotions & events manager at John Ball Zoo. “These are great opportunities to have a fun day of trick or treating with the kids, or an entertaining night out with friends.”

Zoo Goes Boo is a family friendly trick or treat event during which the Zoo turns into the ultimate Halloween destination with magicians, fire performers, jugglers, face painting and more. There will be 13 treat stations scattered throughout the Zoo, so attendees are encouraged to bring a bag for candy and wear a costume. Allergy friendly options are available.

From 9-10 a.m. each day of Zoo Goes Boo, John Ball Zoo members have exclusive access to the event. General admission to Zoo Goes Boo is from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online or at the Zoo.

For an adult-only spooky experience, Rock, Roar & Pour is taking place from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24. This is the Zoo’s 21 and up concert series transformed for spooky season, featuring food, adult beverages and a costume contest. Great Scott, a local cover band, as well as fire performers, stilt walkers, games and dancing jugglers, will entertain attendees.

Tickets for Rock, Roar & Pour can be purchased online or at the Zoo.
