The Holland Farmers Market will officially open for the 2026 season this Wednesday, May 13 at the Eighth Street Market Place (150 West 8th Street) in Downtown Holland! Beginning May 13, the Market will be open outdoors every Wednesday and Saturday from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, rain or shine. Each season, the Holland Farmers Market brings together over 80 local farmers, specialty food vendors, and food trucks, selling fresh fruits and vegetables, bread and baked goods, eggs and meat, honey, maple syrup, jams, gourmet specialty foods, and so much more. Customers are always encouraged to shop early in the day for the best product assortment.
When the Market opens on May 13, customers will be able to shop for early spring produce like asparagus and rhubarb, along with leafy greenhouse-grown greens like spinach, kale, and microgreens, and a number of root vegetable varieties, including carrots, onions, and potatoes. Vendors will also have annual plants, hanging flower baskets, cut flower bouquets, and porch pots for sale, along with herb and vegetable starters. And as always, customers can find bread, baked goods, sweet treats, honey, jam, maple syrup, fish, meat, eggs and a wide variety of specialty gourmet and ready to eat foods available.
“Our team couldn’t be more thrilled for the start of the 2026 season of the Holland Farmers Market,” said Holland Farmers Market Director Kara de Alvare. “After a long winter, we are really looking forward to being back outside to fulfill our mission of connecting the community with fresh, healthy, and local food. We can’t wait to welcome back all of our farmers, vendors, and new and returning customers this Wednesday.”
The Market also looks forward to welcoming five new vendors to the Market this upcoming season. ZOMburgers, a popular burger truck from Hamilton will be joining the Market Food Court for the first time, along with Pera Pizzeria, a wood-fired pizza food truck from Grand Rapids. Also joining the Market this year are Bella Vista Farm, a flower and fruit vendor from Fennville (formerly known to many Market customers as White Barn Flower), Nature’s Market, a health food vendor from Holland, and Kittywampus Soda, an artisanal small-batch soda company from Zeeland.
Bridge Cards and Sun Bucks (Michigan Summer EBT) cards are both accepted at the Holland Farmers Market. The Market also participates in the Double Up Food Bucks program, allowing Bridge Card holders to “double up” their spending at the Market to get an additional $20 in free tokens to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables. Customers are encouraged to visit the Market desk inside the Holland Civic Center for details on using food assistance programs at the Market. Market Bucks gift certificates are also available for purchase inside the Civic Center. Market Bucks are accepted by most vendors and never expire. While a number of vendors accept do accept credit cards, customers are encouraged to have cash on hand or to visit the ATM inside the Civic Center if needed. Pets are not permitted at the Market, so be sure to leave Fido safe at home! (But pick him up some locally made dog treats while you’re here of course.)
