The Holland Farmers Market is now accepting submissions for its annual Poster Design Contest! Both amateur and professional artists and graphic designers ages 16 and up are invited to submit designs for the contest by Friday, April 3 for a chance at winning a $500 cash prize. The winning design will be printed on posters and merchandise used to promote the 2026 season of the Market. The Holland Farmers Market Poster Design Contest is proudly sponsored Fris Supply Shop in Downtown Holland.
“On behalf of our entire team at Fris Supply Shop, we’re excited to be able to sponsor the Holland Farmers Market’s Poster Design Contes again this year,” said Fris Supply Shop owner Andrew Fris. “It's a great way to get the art community involved and a fun way to be able to promote the Holland Farmers Market."
The winning artwork will be chosen by the Holland Farmers Market staff and the contest sponsor, and will be printed on posters, tote bags, stickers, mugs, tea towels, and magnets. The merchandise will be available for purchase at the Holland Farmers Market when the Market opens for the 2026 season on Wednesday, May 13. Proceeds from merchandise purchases will help benefit programming at the Holland Farmers Market.
Artwork submissions will be accepted through Friday, April 3. A non-refundable $10 entry fee is required, though artists may submit three different designs for the $10 entry fee. Students currently enrolled in a high school or college level graphic arts program are especially encouraged to participate in the contest. And may submit one design with no entry fee. The winner of the Poster Design Contest will receive a $500 cash prize, a gift card to Fris Supply Shop, and complimentary merchandise featuring their winning design. A second place "People's Choice" design will be chosen through votes on the Holland Farmers Market Facebook page. The second-place winner will receive $100 in Market Bucks (gift certificates to the Holland Farmers Market) and a gift card to Fris Supply Shop.
Artwork should reflect the mission of the Holland Farmers Market, which is to connect the surrounding community with high-quality local food while supporting the livelihoods of our farmers and vendors. The Market also aims to educate the community on the local food system, while making healthy food accessible for all in a welcoming atmosphere. Any produce or goods included in the artwork must reflect Michigan grown and made goods that can be found at the Market. Designers must be 16 years or older and be a current resident of the State of Michigan. Anyone under the age of 18 must have parental consent to participate in the contest as indicated below.
