The Christkindl Markt at the Grand Rapids Downtown Market returns for its fourth year, bringing the community together for another season of festive food, fun, and gifts galore. Guests can explore more than 60 vendor stalls offering authentic food and beverages, handcrafted goods and one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.
The Christkindl Markt has quickly established itself as a cherished West Michigan holiday tradition and a destination for visitors from across the country. In 2025, the Christkindl Markt welcomed approximately a quarter of a million visitors from 49 of the 50 states, demonstrating its growing reach well beyond West Michigan. Every detail is thoughtfully curated by a team working year round to transport guests to a traditional European-inspired Christmas village in the heart of Grand Rapids.
Each year, the Christkindl Markt builds on that experience by deepening its authenticity, enhancing the guest experience, and bringing even more holiday magic to Grand Rapids. New offerings this season include porchetta sandwiches, chimney cakes, traditional German market-style mushrooms, novelty chocolates, farm-crafted vinegars, elaborate nutcrackers, mechanical wooden puzzles, and more.
Every vendor and product undergoes a thorough approval process led by the Christkindl Markt team. This careful curation preserves the authenticity of the offerings while ensuring each vendor contributes distinctive products or flavors.

Guests will have even more time to experience the holiday magic this year with expanded dates and hours. From November 18 through Christmas Eve, December 24, the 2026 Christkindl Markt will feature 28 days of artisan gift and food vendors, holiday entertainment, and family fun under twinkling lights. The Christkindl Markt will also remain open until 9pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Reservations are now open for the Christkindl Markt’s signature experience, a private Alpenglobe. Designed for gatherings of up to eight people, each heated and enclosed Alpenglobes provides panoramic views of the Christkindl Markt during a three-hour reservation, with exclusive food and beverage pre-order options available. Curling reservations with new exclusive beverage pre-order options are also available for guests looking to add a little friendly competition to their visit. Prime evening and weekend dates are expected to fill quickly, and advance reservations are recommended.
