The Lakeshore Museum Center invites the community to step into history during the final Evening Walking Tour of 2025 on Tuesday, September 23, from 6:00–7:30 PM. This special World War II Walking Tour highlights Muskegon’s vital role both at home and abroad during the war years.
Led by knowledgeable guides, participants will explore what life was like for civilians on the home front. Stops will include the LST 393, the Hackley House, the Mart Dock, and other landmarks where Muskegon’s wartime stories come to life.
“Muskegon’s contributions during World War II are woven into our community’s identity. On this tour, those stories step off the page and into the streets where they happened, offering a powerful reminder of how our city shaped and was shaped by World War II,” said Program Manager at Lakeshore Museum Center Pat Horn.
Each walking tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, covering one mile on flat city sidewalks with minimal elevation changes. The route is accessible for all mobility aids and strollers, with frequent stops and seating available along the way.
Tickets are $13 for Museum Members and $15 for Non-Members. Space is limited, and advance registration is reqiured. Tickets for the WWII Tour can be secured at: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/
