The Barn Theatre is proud to announce its highly anticipated 2026 Mainstage Season, celebrating the theatre’s landmark 80th Anniversary Season with an exciting lineup of beloved musicals, comedies, and classic storytelling.

By popular demand, we’ve added a Saturday 5:00 PM performance as part of our new weekly schedule: Thursday and Friday at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 5:00 PM and 8:30 PM, Sunday at 5:00 PM. Please note that we will no longer offer Tuesday and Wednesday performances.

The season begins with the Barn Theatre’s 80th Anniversary Gala on June 6, a special evening celebrating eight decades of live theatre, memories, and tradition. Guests will enjoy a one-night-only multimedia celebration honoring the generations of artists, audiences, and supporters who have made the Barn Theatre a Michigan summer tradition for 80 seasons.

Following the Gala, audiences can look forward to a diverse season featuring comedy, Broadway classics, family favorites, and iconic musicals:

80th Anniversary Gala | June 6, 2026
Celebrate 80 seasons of Barn Theatre history during a special anniversary evening featuring memorable moments, entertainment, and a multimedia look back at the theatre’s legacy. Escanaba in da Moonlight | June 11–21, 2026
Jeff Daniels’ beloved comedy brings the hilarious Soady family and their unforgettable deer camp adventures to the Barn Theatre stage. Filled with classic Yooper humor, family chaos, and laugh-out-loud moments, this Michigan favorite is packed with heart and comedy. Rated PG-13

1776 | June 25–July 5, 2026
Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with the Tony Award-winning musical 1776. Featuring humor, memorable music, and powerful storytelling, this production brings the signing of the Declaration of Independence to life. Rated PG

Disney’s Frozen | July 9–19, 2026
Experience the magic of Disney’s Frozen live on stage during the Barn Theatre’s 80th season. Featuring beloved songs and unforgettable characters, this family-friendly musical adventure is perfect for audiences of all ages. Rated G

RENT | July 23–August 2, 2026
Jonathan Larson’s iconic rock musical RENT comes to the Barn Theatre in a production with special meaning to the theatre’s history, as Larson spent time at the Barn early in his career. Featuring songs like “Seasons of Love,” this powerful musical explores love, friendship, and chasing dreams. Rated PG-13

Driving Miss Daisy | August 6–16, 2026
Academy Award-winning story Driving Miss Daisy comes to the Barn Theatre starring Kim Zimmer. This heartfelt and timeless play explores the evolving friendship between Daisy Werthan and her chauffeur, Hoke Colburn, over many years. Rated PG

Jesus Christ Superstar | August 20–30, 2026
One of the Barn Theatre’s most popular productions returns to close the 80th season. Featuring a legendary rock score by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, Jesus Christ Superstar remains one of musical theatre’s most powerful and unforgettable productions. Rated PG-13
