Downtown Market To Host Family-Focused Nature Day on January 25
Snakes, birds, and animal artifacts take center stage as the Grand Rapids Downtown Market invites the West Michigan community to experience Nature Day, a free, family-focused event, returning to the Market’s Greenhouse and Banquet Room on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
A community favorite, Nature Day brings the outdoors inside during the heat of winter, offering hands-on opportunities for guests of all ages to learn about wildlife. Through partnerships with nature organizations and community groups, attendees will be able to interact with a variety of live animals including owls, parrots, snakes, turtles, bunnies, bugs, and more. Guests can also participate in nature-related activities and educational opportunities while they explore animal artifacts and displays.
This year’s partners include Blandford Nature Center, Grand Rapids Area Bee Club, Grand Rapids Public Library, Humane Society of West Michigan, N&N Exotic Reptiles Rescue, West Michigan Wildlife, John Ball Zoo, Casa La Parrot, Grand Rapids Public Museum, and other local organizations.
Nature Day offers a warm, indoor, technology-free, outing for all ages to enjoy. Attendees will be able to safely interact with animals, ask questions, and learn from knowledgeable experts.There is no cost to attend.
Guests are encouraged to make a full day of their visit and enjoy a meal, snack, or beverage inside the Market Hall, home to 21 local merchants serving up a wide variety of cuisines and specialty foods. The Market Hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
