What’s the Station? Black Media in Greater Muskegon Exhibit Opens May 15 at the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry
We are delighted to invite you to the grand opening of an exhibition honoring the profound impact and historical significance of Black media in Muskegon. The exhibit What’s the Station? Black Media in Greater Muskegon opens with a special event from 5:30-7:30 PM, Friday, May 15, at the Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry.
Since the 1940s, Black business owners, employees, volunteers, and churches have built media outlets that informed, connected, and uplifted the Muskegon community. In this exhibit, learn about the powerful role Black media has played in shaping communication, community, and culture.
“We are so proud to showcase the deep roots and vital contributions of the Black community in Muskegon,” said Muskegon Heritage Museum of Business and Industry Site Manager Kirk Bunke. “This exhibit is a beautiful tribute to our local history, and we hope you’ll join us in honoring the voices that have profoundly shaped our community.”
