The White Lake Chamber Music Society announces a festive change to its December programming. The originally scheduled lecture by Bob Swan on Thursday, December 12 has been reformatted due to a non-life-threatening injury Mr. Swan has recently experienced. The Society wishes him a smooth and speedy recovery.

In its place, the Society is delighted to support the White Lake United Methodist Church as they present a very special holiday event, “A Musical Journey for Christmas,” on Thursday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. This joyful program is part of the church’s beloved Christmas Tree Festival, an annual tradition that brings together community, music, and the magic of the season.

The evening’s presentation will be led by Ruth Carson and Fiona Dibble, who will guide attendees through a lively and enlightening presentation on the History of the Christmas Carol and Christmas Music through the Ages. Their musical insights and storytelling promise a warm and memorable journey through time, especially with the opportunity to “sing along”.

Guests are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the church’s spectacular display of decorated Christmas trees. Each tree is uniquely adorned, creating a glowing forest of holiday cheer. Early arrivals can also stop by the Mini Bazaar, featuring handcrafted goods, cookies, cakes, and other festive treats—perfect for holiday gifting or savoring at home.

“A Musical Journey for Christmas” is free and open to all, and families are warmly invited to share in this celebration of music, history, and community spirit.
