Set on two and a half acres in beautiful Manistee County - Michigan, the Canfield House Bed & Breakfast occupies a historic 1900s thoughtfully renovated cottage once owned by famous lumber baron, Charles Canfield. The Canfield House has been completely renovated while retaining the charm of the original house. Guests will enjoy the luxuries of today amid the charm of yesteryear.

Located on picturesque Portage Lake, 45 miles southwest of Traverse City, in the quaint village of Onekama, The Canfield House is the Inn with two lakes. Guests can enjoy 200 feet of private beach on Portage Lake or the miles of Lake Michigan beaches just a short distance from the Inn. Portage Lake channels into Lake Michigan, so boaters can experience the pristine protected waters of Portage Lake or the endless ports of call offered by Lake Michigan.

This is a premier four-season resort area and outdoor activities are unlimited. Just minutes away, guests will find downhill ski slopes, cross-county ski trails, an abundance of snowmobile trails, championship golf courses, wooded trails, and bountiful sand dunes. Use it as a center for day trips to explore the surrounding countryside and discover the beauty of Northern Michigan. The nearby town of Manistee has a historic downtown district with restaurants, antique shops, a restored turn-of-the-century theater, and a Riverwalk. The Little River Casino is located seven miles from the Inn.
