Bird lovers can choose their own adventures with the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary’s annual Field Ornithology course, which returns as a hybrid series with multiple ways to participate.
The course will consist of five online lectures and two Saturday field trips. Participants can register for lectures only, field trips only, or for all seven dates. Local bird expert and photographer Josh Haas from Hawks on the Wing and Sanctuary Manager Lisa Duke will co-lead the course. People age 14 and older of all skill levels are welcome to join and improve their bird watching and identification skills.
Participants can choose to attend the lectures in person or online. Lectures will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on a series of Wednesdays: April 3, 10, 17 and 24, and May 1. In-person participants will take a walk focused on building identification skills around the Sanctuary following the lectures. The field trips, which will meet at locations near the Bird Sanctuary, are set for 8 to 11 a.m. on two Saturdays, April 27 and May 4.

In-person lectures only —Sanctuary members, $135, non-members $155
