Downtown Zeeland will roll out a big Welkom for the Zeeland High School Dutch Dancers as well as the Kinder Dutch Dancers, to perform in their hometown before the official Tulip Time Festival in Holland. This hometown occasion has become an annual event, as this will mark the thirteenth year that downtown volunteers have worked to host ZPS Dutch Dancers on their own turf.
The High School Dancers perform the original “Klompen” dance, while the Kinder Dancers perform a folk dance which tells a story about a wooden shoe. Both dances are rich in history and a delight to watch.
