Humankind’s dream of travelling through the skies dates back many centuries. While air travel today is commonplace for people around the world, advancements continue to be made to make aircraft fly faster, fly safer and consume less fuel. Explore the history of aircraft and engineering advancements in aviation at “Great Minds: Century of Flight” on loan from NASA’s Glenn Research Center in March through June. The exhibit features detailed timelines of achievements in aeronautics, models of experimental aircraft still in the works, and how advancements in aviation affect our ability to travel to space. Also on display will be a complimentary exhibit by Kingman Museum staff showcasing different wing configurations and what effect they have on the aircraft’s ability to fly.
