Cherry Republic Releases 2020 Montmorency Nouveau Preserves

In what has become a much-anticipated annual event, Cherry Republic released its first jam of the 2020 growing season this morning, July 30th.

Picked yesterday at a Leelanau County cherry orchard, the prized fruit was rushed to Cherry Republic’s manufacturing facility in Empire and crafted into 60 cases of 2020 Montmorency Nouveau Preserves. An initial supply of still-warm jars were delivered to the cherry retailer’s stores in Glen Arbor and Traverse City this morning, and the remaining Cherry Republic stores in Charlevoix, Ann Arbor, Frankenmuth, and Holland will receive their coveted supply within the next few days.

“Our ‘Citizens of the Republic’ look forward to this day every summer,” shares Cherry Republic President Bob Sutherland. “Not everyone is fortunate enough to have experienced picking a cherry straight from the tree and popping it into their mouth, but we feel like this is about as close as you can get. Our Montmorency Nouveau Preserves are truly a taste of Northern Michigan in a jar.”

Online sales of the limited edition preserves are available at CherryRepublic.com or by calling 1-800-206-6949.
