The West Michigan Tourist Association (WMTA) Board of Directors has officially named Dave Lorenz as Executive Director of the organization. Following his appointment as Interim Executive Director earlier this year, the board voted to make the position permanent as WMTA continues to strengthen and expand its role as a leader in Michigan tourism.

“I’m honored to continue working alongside the WMTA Board, staff, and tourism partners across the region,” Lorenz said. “West Michigan has an incredible tourism story to tell, and I’m excited to help grow awareness, collaboration, and opportunities for the communities and businesses we serve.”

Lorenz brings decades of experience in the tourism and hospitality industry, along with longstanding relationships across the state and national travel sectors. In his new role, he will continue guiding WMTA’s efforts to promote travel throughout West Michigan while helping shape the organization’s long-term vision and strategic priorities.

“Dave is a known and trusted personality in the Michigan travel world, and we’re fortunate to have him at the helm,” said Tim Hygh, WMTA Board President.

The WMTA Board and staff will continue working together to build upon the organization’s strong foundation while exploring new opportunities to support tourism growth throughout the region.
