Local students will showcase their creativity in Book Reports of Destiny at Tibbits Opera House on October 17 and 18 at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance on October 19 at 2 p.m. This lively production transforms classroom book reports into an entertaining experience, captivating audiences with humor and imagination.
The play's story features students presenting three delightful parodies that bring beloved tales to life. The show opens with Chloe, who shares her report on Jubie K. Ruby, where the spirited grade-schooler embarks on a whimsical quest to locate a missing pony during her birthday party, hinting at her potential as a future detective. The excitement continues with Isabella’s recounting of Grimm Tales of Wunzapon, where fairy tale characters humorously protest their less-than-flattering portrayals, turning the narrative on its head.
In the final segment, Adam and Emerson present their report on Bathmat Man, the Damp Knight, a tale that sparks a humorous debate over whether it is the greatest or most disgusting book ever written. Their antics culminate in a flip-o-vision climax, featuring a principal who becomes the world’s silliest superhero after being hypnotized by mischievous classmates, all while battling villains and embracing humor along the way.
Book Reports of Destiny is generously sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater.
