Music lovers are invited to dig deep in their closet and find those forgotten duds of
yesteryear, because Tibbits Opera House welcomes The 1985 and their Totally ‘80s Music Experience to
the historic venue on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m.
The 1985 is the brainchild of Lisa and Dan Vukmirovich, known on stage as Lisa and Danny Vee. Lisa
provides lead vocals, with Danny on keyboards, rhythm guitar and vocals. They are joined by Dave “Dr.
Feelgood” Taylor on lead guitar, keyboards, and vocals; “Captain” Mikey Screes on drums, and Ross “The
Boss” Shelton on bass. Lisa and Dan in particular both have ties to the Coldwater community, the band
itself has played as part of Coldwater Athletic Boosters events in recent years, and they are excited to
bring their full stage experience to Tibbits.
The 1985 has toured across the region, bringing their 1980s tribute to venues in Michigan, Indiana,
Illinois, and Ohio, complete with videos, lights, costumes and their covers of the very best of 1980s rock,
pop, new wave, metal and club music. More information on the band and a sample of some of the music
currently played at shows can be found at the1985band.com.
As with some previous concerts, Tibbits is also making available an “On Your Feet” section, for those
who wish to stand and/or dance through the show without having to worry about bothering other
concert-goers. Tickets for this section are demarcated on the ticketing page for The 1985 at Tibbits.org.
Tickets for The 1985 range from $20 to $36 including fees. The performance will be held at the historic
Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett St., in Coldwater, Michigan. Doors to the lobbies, art gallery and
Ghost Light Bar will open at 6:00 p.m., with seating beginning at 6:30 p.m. The show will begin at 7:00
p.m., and will run approximately two hours, plus intermission.
From its opening in 1882, Tibbits Opera House has brought touring artists to the community of
Coldwater, Michigan, and continues that tradition nearly a century and a half later with musicals, plays,
concerts, cultural events, movies and more, in service to arts lovers of all ages.
