Music fans are invited to Tibbits Opera House in August as the historic venue hosts a pair of local bands that are ready to rock the house on Saturday night, August 16!
The night will begin with Gardyloo Blues Review, a powerhouse ensemble featuring local names George Babcoke (guitar, keyboard, vocals), Gary Babcoke (guitar, harp), Joe Holicki (drums), Jim Forrister (guitar, vocals), Mark Galliers (vocals) and Randy Weiss (bass, vocals). With gritty blues roots and plenty of soul, they’ll set the tone for a night of unforgettable music.
Then, the spotlight shifts to Pomegranate Whiskey, a fan-favorite band known across the tri-state bar and event scene. But this time, catch them like never before—on the historic Tibbits stage in full concert glory. Made up of Coldwater natives and with local family ties, this tight-knit group—Clayton Macklem (drums), Owen Macklem (guitar), Nathan Proffit (bass), and Jeff Bradley (vocals), has been rocking together for nearly a decade. Their eclectic mix of rock & roll, spanning generations and genres, from Elvis to Ozzy, and everything in between, guaranteeing something for everyone.
As with previous concerts this season, Tibbits is also making available an “On Your Feet” section, for those who wish to stand and/or dance through the show without having to worry about bothering other concert-goers. Tickets for Pomegranate Whiskey, with special guests Gardyloo Blues Review are just $10, including fees. The performance will be held at the historic Tibbits Opera House, 14 S. Hanchett St., in Coldwater, Michigan. Doors to the lobbies, art gallery and Ghost Light Bar will open at 6:30pm, with seating beginning at 7pm. The show will begin at 7:30pm, and will run approximately two hours, plus intermission.
From its opening in 1882, Tibbits Opera House has brought touring artists to the community of Coldwater, Michigan, and continues that tradition nearly a century and a half later with musicals, plays, concerts, cultural events, movies and more, in service to arts lovers of all ages.
