Tibbits Opera House announces the return of its highly anticipated Popcorn Theatre series, offering an array of shows suitable for all ages throughout the season. From June 7 through August 3, audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy family-friendly performances every Friday and Saturday at 10 am, including three plays brought to life by Tibbits’ professional Summer Theatre company members.

In addition to plays, Popcorn Theatre also presents shows by touring artists, and this season’s lineup features John Shango, a master illusionist, and Kevin Kammeraad, the renowned puppeteer behind the web-based show “Wimee’s Words.” Kaitlyn Lee, Audience Services at Tibbits, highlights the significance of the series, stating, "Touring artists from all over the country come together to inspire young audiences, making each performance a memorable and enriching experience."

Popcorn Theatre kicks off with The Emperor's New Clothes on June 7, 8, 14 and 15, a timeless tale of wit featuring a mischievous tailor and a vain Emperor. This comedic production will be followed by Rumpelstiltskin on June 21, 22, 28 and 29, where audiences can enjoy a whirlwind adventure filled with riddles, quick thinking and clever tactics.

On July 5 and 6, Magician John Shango will perform mind-bending illusions and disappearing acts on the stage with the Big Fun Magic Show. Following this, on July 12 and 13, Kevin Kammeraad will offer a unique blend of puppetry and interactive entertainment with A Morning with Master Puppeteer Kevin Kammeraad and Friends, featuring his beloved puppets.

As the summer progresses, Pooh Corner will take center stage on July 19, 20, 26 and 27, offering heartwarming moments with classic characters. Closing out the season on August 2 and 3 is a special screening of Disney's animated movie Frozen, allowing audiences to sing along to beloved songs and immerse themselves in the magical world of Arendelle.
