Star of Saugatuck Beer on the Boat Series, August 10, 4:00 to 5:30 p.m.

  • Nothing can beat a cold brew on the water. Summer is calling and so is the Star of Saugatuck’s Beer on the Boat Series.  Mitten Brewing Company is the featured brewery on August 10, from 4:00 - 5:30 pm and their rep will impress you with everything you’ve ever wanted to know about their hand-crafted selections And wet your whistle with great tastings of course.  The Star of Saugatuck is an authentic sternwheeler paddleboat offering 90-minute cruises, daytime and evenings, and it’s a perfect way to hang with friends and take in the impressive views or watch a romantic sunset with someone special.  The Beer on the Boat Series is $60 per person and requires a valid ID.  And if wine is more your thing, take in the Wine on the Boat Series on August 17th instead. 

 

Amway Grand Plaza Hotel Lumbar Baron & Iron Fish Cocktail Class, August 17, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.

  • If you ever wanted to channel your inner bartender or master the craft of concocting exquisite cocktails, then this is one afternoon you won’t want to miss.  The Lumber Baron Bar at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel is a cozy intimate setting, perfect for hanging with the Iron Fish Distillery masters, who will guide you through the art of mixing with finesse on August 17th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.  You will savor delicious small bites, make four cocktails using gin, whiskey, and two styles of bourbon, and take home a cocktail-shaking kit, all creating a very memorable afternoon.  This classy cocktail class promises to be loads of fun.

 

Great Lakes Surf Festival, August 10, 12:30 - 6:00 p.m.

  • The Pere Marquette Beach in Muskegon is calling all Boardheads, Surfers, Paddlers, and Foilers! It’s time for the annual Great Lakes Surf Festival tomorrow from 12:30 - 6:00 p.m. Imagine a late summer day on an amazing beach, watching passionate people learn the art of surfing, checking out all the surfing gear and product demos, practicing a little meditative yoga with sand between your toes, grabbing a bite, listening to great music and checking out the surfboard art on display.  Even if you're curious this is the place to be and chat with those in the know.  Passes are available at the beach for $10 or families for $25.00 and be sure to check out their schedule online for information on the yoga classes and alternate dates in case it rains. Please note that the city of Muskegon charges $10 for parking as well.
