Visit Windmill Island Gardens this Monday where the MSU Extension will host the last  Books and Blooms activity of the summer on Monday, August 12! This Books and Blooms event will begin with a musical Story Time with our friends from the Holland Symphony Orchestra at 10:00 am,

followed by a fun, educational, and hands-on activity at 10:30 am. During the Books and Blooms series,  children can not only enjoy interactive stories, songs, and activities, but also enjoy our children’s carousel,  playground, see our two Frisian horses, and 10 chickens all on Windmill Island Gardens’ park grounds.

This Monday during Books and Blooms, children can create their own Living Necklaces with the help of  the MSU Extension! Learn about plant germination and take home your very own plant that you can care  for, watch grow, and… wear! The Michigan State University (MSU) Extension helps people improve their  lives by bringing the vast knowledge resources of MSU directly to individuals, communities and  businesses. With a presence in every Michigan county, Extension faculty and staff members provide tools  to live and work better.

For the last Books and Blooms story time of the summer, we will have string quartet of special guests  from the Holland Symphony Orchestra that will play a musical soundtrack in conjunction with their story!  Join us for this special musical edition story time to celebrate the end of the all new Books and Blooms  children’s series!

Families are invited to Windmill Island Gardens this coming Monday morning, August 12, for the end of  our new bi-weekly Books and Blooms series from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.
