Your group will navigate the five floors of the site, uncovering intriguing artifacts and enjoying fascinating, quirky, and eerie anecdotes from our knowledgeable staff.
“Our Flashlight Tour offers an opportunity to see the Hackley and Hume Houses as never before,” said Muskegon Historic Sites Director Erin Schmitz. “Visitors will experience the grandeur of these historic homes while hearing the stories that aren’t typically shared on our classic tours with only the light of your flashlight.”
Upon arrival, check-in will take place at the City Barn (carriage house), conveniently located between the Hackley and Hume Houses. Complimentary parking is available on Webster Avenue and 6th Street.
The Hackley and Hume Houses, constructed in the late 1880s, provide modern spectators with insight into the artistry, decor, and lifestyle of the prominent lumber barons Charles H. Hackley and Thomas Hume. Designed by architect David S. Hopkins, these homes have been meticulously restored to their original 1890s grandeur, offering a glimpse into the post-lumbering era of Muskegon’s history.
Limited spots are available, so don’t wait to secure your tickets! Admission is $15 for members of the Lakeshore Museum Center and $20 for non-members. Tickets can be conveniently purchased online at zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/
