A surprising combination of comedy, circus skills and audience participation will delight
audiences young and old when Cirque Amongus comes to Tibbits Opera House as part of Popcorn
Theatre on July 10 and 11 at 10am. Additionally, a hands-on circus workshop will take place after the
July 11 performance.
Cirque Amongus offers an immersive circus experience with hands-on programs designed to build self-
esteem, develop motor skills and promote teamwork. Kids are introduced to the fundamentals of circus
arts—juggling, movement and balance—in a safe, fun-filled and educational environment. Continue the
fun with an hour-long workshop after the July 11 show, which will allow kids a full hands-on circus
experience. The workshop is for children ages 5-18 and will begin at 1pm after the July 11 performance.
An additional workshop fee of $25 will apply.
Cirque Amongus was started in 2001 by Sem and Teresa Abrahams in Livonia, Michigan. The two have
performed in more than 20 countries on four continents. Cirque Amongus offers other programs like
birthday parties, circus camp and adult team building workshops. The Cirque Amongus Activity Center in
Livonia, Michigan, offers other programs such as drop-in workshops and adult hoop fitness classes.
