Barbecue lovers, backyard grill masters, and families looking for an unforgettable summer outing are invited to the 7th Annual Magic City Grill Fest on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Colon, Michigan — the famed “Magic Capital of the World.”

Presented by the Colon American Legion, the Magic City Grill Fest has become one of southwest Michigan’s signature outdoor food events, bringing together talented grilling teams, incredible food, friendly competition, and hometown pride. More than a festival, it is a celebration of community that supports local veterans and community programs.

This year’s festival raises the stakes in a major way: the qualified winner of the Beef Slider (Burger) category will earn a coveted Golden Ticket invitation to compete at the 2026 World Food Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, from October 15–18, 2026.

Throughout the day, competitors will battle in three mouthwatering categories — pork ribs, chicken wings, and beef sliders — while attendees enjoy tasting opportunities and vote for the fan-favorite Taster’s Choice Award. The event also features raffles, prizes, a cornhole tournament, family-friendly entertainment, and a post-event celebration at the Colon American Legion.

“The Magic City Grill Fest continues to grow in both excitement and reputation,” said Festival Chair George Collins. “This year’s Golden Ticket opportunity brings national recognition to our event while giving talented grillers a chance to compete on one of the biggest stages in food competition.”
